Letters from a Hill Farm
How totally cute!!!! Love this!
I had NO IDEA that was Christina Rossetti - but, then, I suppose that's why you posted it ;)Love the picture, tooJoanna
OMG - I had no idea that Christina Rossetti ever wrote anything that light and fun.
I was surprised by the Rossetti poem as well, but when I went looking around for more info on her, I came across a book called Sing-Song: A Nursery Rhyme Book. There's a recent reproduction with the original Victorian illustrations for sale, and I'm going to buy it. One reviewer said it is typically V. with some morbid ones, but still thought it worth buying.
Now that I am a grandmother, it seems that I am often late in replying to your most-appreciated comments. But I read them as soon as they come in, and I will write as soon as I can. Please do come back and check. I love these blogging conversations. A little addendum - I've just spent quite a long time catching up with dear notes you left me months ago!! I do hope you can get back to read them. And I'm trying to be much more prompt now! Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
