Letters from a Hill Farm
When it's strawberry time, then strawberries are my favourites, but then when the raspberries fruit, I love raspberries best! I think I shall opt for wild strawberries still warm from the sun. Wonderful.
I know just what you mean, Jennie!
I have to agree with Jennie - it's just what I was going say. Each berry is my favorite in its season. As I taste those first strawberries, I think, "Oh my! Was there ever a more perfect food?" And my fickleness does not extend only to berries; as I taste the first ripe peach, or a perfect pear still warm from the sun, I think that same thing, "Oh my! was there ever a more perfect food?" *grin*
I think I honestly have to say that for me, much as I like strawberries, my favourite berry has to be raspberries. Picked off the bush and straight into your mouth - that's the best way. :-)
Now that I am a grandmother, it seems that I am often late in replying to your most-appreciated comments. But I read them as soon as they come in, and I will write as soon as I can. Please do come back and check. I love these blogging conversations. A little addendum - I've just spent quite a long time catching up with dear notes you left me months ago!! I do hope you can get back to read them. And I'm trying to be much more prompt now! Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
