Oh, Lisa, that tractor is used year round! In the winter, Tom uses it to plow the parking area and to haul wood once a week to the terrace woodpile, from the main woodpile. And he gets hay at the local feedstore twice a week for the animals - usually using the old pickup, but something's wrong with the transmission. Aisling, I don't know how long we've had the tractor. We couldn't live without one here. Joyce, you're right! Do you remember their early ads about carrying things? Well, we've carried our son's complete drumkit, and best of all was the day we had three young men in the car, who were all over six feet, and weighed over two hundred pounds each! I thought VW might have used that one in their ads. I love that car beyond words. Thanks for all your comments.
I love this! We have a Corvette and I have been known to have it overflowing with plants from the nursery - no haybales yet though! :) Mark threatened to get me vanity plates that read MYTRUCK
The nice thing is that the Beetle smells so good now! Les, I heard there's a new sort of Mini Cooper coming out. Have you heard about it? Nancy, one of the great things about having a Beetle is the people who come up to me in a parking lot and ask me how I like it, and then tell me about the old B. they had. They want to know if this one is warmer and I tell them it has a terrific heater! (and heated seats - I am so spoiled!)
Yep, I heard about the new model last fall when we were at the dealership. I don't much care for the design, so I think I'll keep "Stumpy" for a few more years. Hard to believe I've had her for 4 years now. Only have 27K miles!
I still get lots of compliments and questions about the Mini, especially as gas gets more and more expensive. I think folks think it'd be a great economy car. It's pretty good, but I think I'd go with a Prius (or something a bit more green than a Mini). It gets about 30 in town and 40 in the interstate. Not bad, but not fabulous. Might be time for a Scooter, if gas hits $4/gallon.
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
Whoa the tractor is out and the Beetle filled with hay. Spring must have sprung at your house.
ReplyDeleteNan, That's cute! *grin* I love your new banner picture of the tractor. We need one of those around here, but so far it is just on the wish list. :)
ReplyDeleteYou should send that photo to VW to use in their advertising campaign!!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Mari-Nanci.
ReplyDeleteKris, I love the plate idea. He should do it!
Those bales fit just perfectly don't they? Though I bet it took a bit of wrangling to get them in and then out again. That's what I call resourceful!

ps: I will respond to your lovely comments at my blog a bit later today ... I'm trying to visit blogs during my breaks at work :)
Too funny! You should see how many bags of cypress mulch I've hauled in my Mini. :)
