Further afield/Trillium

These grow all around my daughter's rental house in the woods. We don't have any on our land. They are called Red or Purple Trillium, and also Wakerobin and Birthroot.

I read that picking the flowers of Trillium can seriously injure the plant. The three leaves below the flower are the plant's only food source and a picked trillium may die or take many years to recover.

  1. Oh! I haven't seen a red trillium in ages! Beautiful! ♥

  2. I was so delighted to find them growing all around my daughter's house. Absolutely beautiful.
