Here is what I saw on today's Sunday Stroll.
The dear, fragrant, old-fashioned honeysuckle are just beginning to open.
The spinach is coming up nicely. I need to thin it tomorrow.
I love 'volunteers,' that is, flowers that pop up where I haven't planted them. This is the very first of all my mountain bluets, also called perennial cornflowers, to blossom, and it is in-between two of the granite steps into the kitchen.
And look what we 'planted' today! Some friends came over for supper, and afterwards we had a fun game. I love badminton.
Nan, Great photos. I love the little bluet peeking out from between the steps. I enjoy badminton. The stage is set for some wonderful fun this summer. :)
ReplyDeleteI like badminton too. It looks like you are going to have lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteI do like your Sunday Stroll posts. I hope you keep on with them. It's years since I played badminton - I love it too, though I'd probably struggle to hit the shuttlecock these days. I need to get fit.
ReplyDeleteMountain Bluets! What a great name. I have a big clump of these perennial cornflowers. They flower early and are completely indestructible. They seem to grow taller here than with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!! I love badminton, too. You have such a nice large area for it (and croquet or bocci ball).
ReplyDeleteI'll try to get some pics of our gardens later this week. Lots in bloom right now - that is, if the 63 mph winds didn't destroy everything!
Great picces and I love badminton too, it's just a bit too windy in OK to play it!
ReplyDeleteI love to see how your garden is growing. I only have a small cottage garden but it was looking pretty until the weekend, when we had heavy rain and high winds. I can see clumps of lilac on the ground but haven't been out to examine the rest of the damage yet.
ReplyDeleteLove these kinds of a-stroll-with-me entries. :-)
