Quote du jour/George MacDonald

Work is not always required of a man. There is such a thing as sacred idleness, the cultivation of which is now fearfully neglected.

  2. Wonderful! I didn't realize what I'd been doing lately was sacred, but I'll take it. :)

  3. I think those are great words. Society doesn't seem to value idleness, but I think without it we can't do busyness very well. And Amy, I'm sure it was sacred. :<)

  4. I like this quote very much -- there's much to be said for "sacred idleness" and we, as a society, don't partake often enough. Just a moment with eyes closed, listening to the wind or morning bird song or waves crashing on the shore...balms for the soul. :)
