Teaser Tuesdays/Home Sweet Homicide
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
From page 53 of Home Sweet Homicide by Craig Rice:
Policemen all around the place. And three people - who couldn't possibly have known each other - trying to break in.

The cover for this book looks awesome! It sounds good, I'll have to toss it onto my TBR pile :D
ReplyDeleteJess, it's a very fun book - a 1940s screwball mystery where the kids of a mystery writer get involved in a murder next door.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteLove the cover, yea I'm one of those people that pick books by their covers. It's on my TBR list. Have a great day!!
Sherrie
And the cover really does tell the story of what's inside. The mother spends most of her time at that typewriter working on her mystery books, while the kids pop in once in a while to visit. Great book.
ReplyDeleteI do love these Teaser Tuesdays ... thanks for sharing them with us, Nan. Your book looks like something I'd like to read, but couldn't find it anywhere here.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Teaser - from A Partisan's Daughter by Louis de Bernieres
"In my house there was a Jewish actor, there was a boy pretending to be someone else, but who really wanted to be Bob Dylan, and there was a sculptress who made little ceramic things. There wasn't anyone on the top floor because there wasn't a roof to speak of."
Wow, Janice that's a great one! Is he the same fellow who wrote Corelli's Mandolin? Violin?
ReplyDeleteNan, I've been following your blog with intense interest. You have gotten me in trouble because I keep adding books to my "must buy" list and my husband is starting to worry about the ever growing number of books in our house! Anyway, Home Sweet Homicide sounds like another winner. Thank you SO MUCH for all your book reviews. I have read and loved many of the authors you have mentioned and I need to reread some of those old friends as well as discover new ones along the way!
ReplyDeleteJill, I thank you so much for taking the time to come by and tell me this. It really means so very much. You have warmed my heart, really.
ReplyDeleteyes, Nan, same guy who wrote Captain Corelli's Mandolin ... I wrote a bit about it on my Reading Diary
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janice. I have seen the title on my bloglist but haven't had a chance to stop by yet.
