Today's poem - Grown-Up by Edna St.Vincent Millay

Grown-Up
by Edna St. Vincent Millay

Was it for this I uttered prayers,
And sobbed and cursed and kicked the stairs,
That now, domestic as a plate,
I should retire at half-past eight?

  1. Maybe not half past eight but I ought to be in bed by half past ten. Usually I am not. Ha!

  2. Some nights I am in bed by half past eight - read for a bit and then lights out!
I love the photo on your header with the mist and fall colours - I can almost smell that fall smell of decay and I feel ready for soup and fresh bread followed by baked apples!

  3. I'm usually in bed by half past 9, but then I get up at 5:30! I splurge and sleep 'til 7:30 on the weekends. ;)

I am changing how I post your much appreciated comments. Since I began the blog, I've waited to post them until I had the opportunity to respond. Sometimes that's taken a while, so I've decided to moderate them and post them as soon as possible, and then I'll respond when I get a chance.
Also, you may comment on any posts, no matter how old, and I will receive notice.
