Quote du jour/Julie & Julia movie
You know what I love about cooking? I love that after a day when nothing is sure, and when I say "nothing" I mean nothing, you can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. It's such a comfort.

This was one of my favourite movies!
ReplyDeleteAnd the comfort of food...
Thanks for this great post!
Joanne
Oh, I meant to say that I too love your header! That gate is just so inviting!
ReplyDeleteMay I open it and come through for a visit?
I knew you would say Yes!
Cheers!
Joanne
So very true.
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily in this household! It depends on my level of concentration: by the time I get into the kitchen and start to cook, somehow words that have been waiting to be written for some article or proposal flow into my silly head, and we have burned offerings or less-than-perfect - whatever it was I went into the kitchen to create.
ReplyDeletelovely and comforting :0)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I've yet to see this movie even though my brother and his wife RAVED about it and have seen it twice. What is wrong with me? I think Netflix has it on instant play, too. I will definitely be watching it this week. But you know, I suspect, I have to be in the mood. Re: your quote, Cooking can definitely bring comfort, no question. I'm making guacamole tonight, just because.
ReplyDeleteI loved this movie! Great quote!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Joanne. I watch it over and over again. You may certainly come in, anytime!
ReplyDeletePamela, yes.
Wild Somerset Child, that's a great story!
Val, I agree.
Yvette, I own it and watch it often. It is my perfect movie.
Les, me, too.
Sherri, I paused the movie to jot it down because I thought it so perfect. :<)
Count me as a lover of this movie! My daughter and I saw it together and it quickly became 'our movie.'
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this will work, but this is a link to the blog she wrote while her significant other was trekking in Asia. [I don't know if it appropriate to post this here. If not, I apologize.]
Oops...forgot to post the link to daughter's cooking adventure blog.
