No, hers are baked. Much better for you, much less fat. But if I'm going to eat french fries, I want the real, deep-fried deal. :<) Mine is a Rival and it is great. No grease on the counter, easy to use, and the fries are delish! We use olive oil in ours, though the booklet says no because of the "low smoke point". We've tried other oils, but found this tastes the best. I get the stuff in big cans, not the expensive bottles. :<)
