Letters from a Hill Farm
Nan, I love this song and to hear the great Barbra singing it. I would listen to that woman sing her grocery list. Lovely!!
I agree with every word, Kay! Do you have her latest? It is unbelievably great - two discs; one with orchestra, on with a quartet produced by Diana Krall. http://www.amazon.com/Love-Answer-Deluxe-Barbra-Streisand/dp/B002DYJAIO
Difficult to believe he's 80.
Pamela, I know.
A truly great song. Thanks.
Glad you liked it, Martin.
Just lovely! I remember when Sondheim was a young up-and-comer. And I remember life without Barbra! What a nice marriage of song and voice. Thank you for choosing it.
Sunt Lacrimae Rerum, I'm so pleased you liked it.
You should check out Judi Dench's version of this too - it's on YouTube and iTunes - she doesn't have a technically brilliant voice, but acts songs so beautifully.
Stuck in a Book, I have, and it is so moving, so personal. Is there anything that woman can't do?!
Now that I am a grandmother, it seems that I am often late in replying to your most-appreciated comments. But I read them as soon as they come in, and I will write as soon as I can. Please do come back and check. I love these blogging conversations. A little addendum - I've just spent quite a long time catching up with dear notes you left me months ago!! I do hope you can get back to read them. And I'm trying to be much more prompt now! Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
