All I could wish for Mother's Day weekend …

was having Michael, Margaret and her boyfriend Matthew, and Tom alongside me in the fourth row from the stage at a Rusted Root concert! We had THE BEST time. Every single person in the place was on their feet dancing for the whole show. It is amazing to realize that Margaret was 12 and Michael was 9 when the When I Woke album came out. It is still just as great all these years later, as is the band. If you ever get a chance to see them, don't pass it up. They put on a great show. The audience consisted of people younger than Michael and older than Tom and I. That's a rare band that appeals to all ages.

I mentioned their wonderful song, Send Me On My Way in a sad posting from four years ago.

Here's a video from a 2011 show.

    1. We felt so happy to all be there together! At one point Michael leaned over and said to Tom, I don't know any other parents who would do this. :<)
Thanks and the same to you!

  7. Oh my Nan, my boys love this band and went to several of their concerts when they were just out of high school. I believe the guys in the band are from Pittsburgh where I live. Good music. Didn't realize they were still making music. Happy mom's day!

  8. That is so cool, Nan!!! Love that song and I guess I'm just not hip on band names these days as I've never heard of this group, but will be sure to see them in concert if they ever come my way!

    Happy Mother's Day!

  11. Great to know they are still performing. I went to a concert of theirs years ago when we lived in New Hampshire. That was when I discovered that music concerts didn't have chairs for the audience any more, so I have enjoyed their recorded music since. It's just not the same, though, as all that energy being in one big place!

    1. That's what made it so wonderful! Dancing the whole time. There were chairs but no one sat. The venue was great -an old movie theatre. If you paid more you could get dinner and sit at a table up back.
