For the August installment of Matt's birthday present, I made an old family favorite. Easy as can be and delicious.
Mix together:
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Add 1 cup dry cereal. I use Erewhon crispy brown rice.
Mix together well and roll into balls.
You may roll some in coconut or powdered sugar; add a few chocolate chips or leave them plain.
OH MY GOODNESS these sound fantastic. I'm going to try rolling them in "cocoa powder"... Thank you so much,

Oh gosh, this made me hungry for something sweeet.
ReplyDeleteNan I have made peanut butter balls before and they are yummy! Great protein!
ReplyDeleteOMG these sound amazing! And like something that I might be able to actually make :p
ReplyDeleteYour peanut butter balls look really good. My dad and step-mom make those too, mainly for Christmas though. But they make it different. I would like to try them. very much.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Donna!
ReplyDeleteLisa, they are perfect!
Sherri, does your recipe call for dry milk? That's another recipe I have. No cereal or vanilla.
Chris, you can't go wrong!
Rocketgirl, now you won't have to wait till Christmas!
These are especially good to make this time of year--no baking in the oven and heating up the kitchen! --Catherine Mary
ReplyDeleteI could eat that whole tray by myself! (I'm a peanut butter fanatic). Yummm.
ReplyDeleteCatherine Mary, you've done it again! I've been thinking about you lately and here you are. :<) That's exactly why I chose the PB Balls for this month's present. It has been so very hot. Cooler now, but muggy still.
ReplyDeleteSallie, I hope you get a chance to make them!
Simple and great recipe. It would be perfect for children to make.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I am deathly allergic to peanuts, which were once my favorite food. but, I will pass this on to others.
Thanks dear,

ReplyDeleteStaci, you can make them almost as quickly!
These sound like something I'd like to eat right now. I enjoyed your garden reports too.

So very nice to 'see' both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jody! They are so, so easy and just great.
Beverly, have you ever seen the peanut butter and chocolate mixture in the stores?
Well, sounds as if even I could manage that. Love the sweet peas too.
ReplyDeleteSusie, if you like the ingredients, then you will love the PB Balls. So good. The sweet peas are amazing this summer.
