I'm joining in this fun event for the month of July. With 'rules' like the following, how could I resist?! You may go here for more info or to sign up.
Watched The Red Balloon on July 12.
Reminisced about our 1971 trip on July 14.Listened to Françoise Hardy on July 19.
Shared a poem by Arthur Rimbaud on July 23.
There will be no rules or targets in terms of how much you need to do or complete in order to be a part of Paris in July - just blog about anything French and you can join in.
Some ideas for the month might include:
Reading a French book - fiction or non-fiction -
Watching a French movie -
Listening to French music -
Cooking French food -
Experiencing French art, architecture or travel (or remembering travel experiences)-
Or anything else French inspired you can think of...
How about listening to some Edith Piaf? One of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI have her on a few French compilations. I'd actually like to learn more about the woman.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Perhaps I'll gather a couple of blogger friends and do a D.C. macaron taste comparison later this month. (And, yes, I do know I lead a tough life.)
ReplyDeleteYup. Tough life. :<)
DeleteSorry I didn't plan ahead; this sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't too late. You don't even have to read books. You can eat French food or listen to French music or watch a French movie. :<) Lotsa fun.
DeleteI'd love to go to a French restaurant if there was a reasonably priced one close by.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to one. I think a pastry place would be more for this vegetarian. :<)
DeleteI just started reading An Unexpected Guest which is about a British diplomat's wife living in Paris.
ReplyDeleteAnn
I hadn't heard of this! Thank you. It sounds great!!
DeleteI've started Tout Sweet and listened to the soundtrack to French Kiss this afternoon. This is going to be a fun challenge!! I'm glad you're participating, too!
ReplyDeleteooh, I see there's a whole 'Tout' series. Oh boy. Will look into all these books. I just watched Inspector Bellamy last night.
DeleteI celebrate France every July by watching all available coverage of the Tour de France. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAre you in the US? Is it covered here?
DeleteLooking forward to sharing Paris in July.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun.

Lil Bit Brit
It is fun!
DeleteYou could always read one of my novels about Paris where I really was a diplomats wife!
ReplyDeleteI own Pond Lane and Paris, but am not sure if I'll get to it this month. I'm in the middle of two other books. I think my Paris in July may feature different things than books. But I do look forward to your book with great anticipation!
DeleteI'm reading Paris to the Past by Ina Caro, (it's wonderful!) in preparation for being in Paris during the last half of July to teach Paris: A Literary Adventure :-)
