I have not read this book. I always hated taking naps when I was a child. I have only just the past few years since I retired succumbed to naps now and then. Maybe I should read this book to see what I have been missing. You sweet animals make it look so inviting.
Nan, I like a napping house, knowing that the family is safe and sound, and within touching distance. While "The Napping House" by Audrey and Don Wood is new to me, I enjoy reading these colourful children's books with their large letters and pictures. As a reader or otherwise, I like to think that a part of me hasn't really grown up.
An older man we knew, who is now dead, once said the only time he could really sleep was when all his family was around and safe. I think all of us keep some of our childhoods with us.
Thanks for sharing this book and the adorable pics of your furry sleepers! Love them! I will check out this book as on Monday I became the grandmama to a beautiful baby girl named Beatrix. She received a book from each guest at the baby shower so already has a nice little library. And certainly lots of Beatrix Potter's little books. Mary
Oh, how WONDERFUL!! I am so happy for you. There is absolutely no love like that of a grandparent and a grandchild. Magic. And I LOVE her name!!!!!! Thank you for telling me, Mary!!
The Napping House is one of my favorites. My daughter and I used to read it over and over again when she was younger. :-) Love the cute photos of your animals!
Sweet! I forget to get many napping photos of my dachshunds. They're usually spooning, which is adorable. I haven't heard of this book and wonder if my granddaughters have read them.
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
This was one of Amy's favorite books. Love the photos of your animals, Nan.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a napper, though I have no memory of childhood and napping. I'm amazed you can remember! Cats and dogs are champion nappers!
DeleteI'd gladly join them in the afternoons these days!
ReplyDeleteThe book is new to me but I like the idea.
It's a lovely book.
