Thirteen years

This is the same view that was on my first blog post November 22, 2006.

My beloved maple is gone. The little crabapple is now quite large. There's a forsythia tucked in there. The house is a different color. The fence has been moved a bit. Other than that, it all looks pretty much the same. Kind of like me. There are some changes, but I am pretty much the same.

To my longtime readers and friends, I say thank you so very much for still being here. And to those new readers, welcome. Each of you is more important to me than you can ever know.

  1. Ah, how lovely! I was just comparing my reading self from 20 years ago with me now - not much has changed there, either!

  2. Love your blog - and I think Gladys would too. Also, like me, she would love your beautiful house.

  5. Quite an achievement, Nan, congratulations on 13 blogging years. I've been reading a handful of blogs for almost that long, yours among them, and it's so nice to see that the good things in life don't have to change. Thanks for being here.

  11. Two lovely pictures, Nan. How wonderful that you are still blogging after 13 years. My blog is only 7 years old, but I am sure I read your blog before that. I always enjoy your posts. Have a good Thanksgiving.

  13. I love your blog! Long may it last. I've been in this house since 1980 and I used to say every day more things came in than went out, but we are trying to change that now!

  14. Just back from Swansea and catching up on blogs. Happy 13th. anniversray, Nan. Yours was one of the first book blogs I ever found and you have the honour of being the first book blogger who ever made me buy a book because of your review. It was True North by George Erickson. Do you remember the book?

    1. Thank you!
Gosh, Cath, i don't remember it. And I've searched my blog to no avail - couldn't find author or book. Must be someone else.

    2. Well, you could knock me down with a feather, Nan, because I was as convinced as I can be that I had read about that book on your blog. How strange. Now I want to know where I saw it of course but fancy I have very little chance of finding out. Well, I've just checked and I bought it from Amazon in July 2007. I mentioned it in a post on my old book blog a couple of weeks later saying only that I had 'seen it recced on a book blog'. How annoying that I didn't say whose. My blogger book blog began a few weeks later and I know for certain that it was because I'd become addicted to Blogspot book blogs and yours was one of them.

    3. I went to my Amazon orders for 2007, and didn't find that I had ordered it. I love a mystery. Maybe you can find out by checking with all the blogs you were reading then? Although, most likely the person isn't blogging anymore! haha
So happy you came back to read my response.

  15. In some ways, I am astonished that it's been 13 years and yet, it seems longer, as well. I am so grateful for your presence here in the blogging world, Nan. I so enjoy reading your book note, seeing your lovely home & garden, watching your grands as they grow-up, and everything else you take the time to share with your readers. I still hope to meet you (and Tom!) face-to-face someday. Can you believe we've been "chatting" for over 22 years?! Happy Thanksgiving, dear friend. xoxo
