Last week's flowers were again in my mother's vase, and that Wednesday would have been her 105th birthday.
This week, it was too hot for me to carry the flowers outdoors and take a picture.
I'm wild about the love-lies-bleeding (amaranth). Basil this week!
I have tried to grow Love-lies-bleeding before, several times actually. I don't know why it won't grow for me. It is so unusual looking. All of your flowers are pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt really is such a cool plant. And it feels like one of those Victorian names!
DeleteSo beautiful! Love those vivid colors. Sorry you've had it so hot at your house. Of course, to me, hot is normal for now. We're trending down a bit though and getting some showers - helps, but also makes it very muggy.
ReplyDeleteThe huge difference is that there is no air conditioning. I hate to resort to that, but I will if we should get another summer like this. I'm thinking/hoping next year we will have our normal north country summer. Cooler today, frost in the forecast. HOORAY.
DeleteBeautiful! My mother would have 103 in February....
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to remember your mother! I don't know when she died, but I wonder what she'd make of the world as it is in 2018. And all the things to tell her about, such as the birth of several great-grandchildren!
