Margaret took this photo. I'm fond of the black and white.
This is really Hazel's second year of preschool. Our town elementary school offers free pre-Kindergarten, which is wonderful. Hazel's teacher went to this same school, as did Margaret and Matthew. They are all great friends, and the teacher, Ms Abbie, sent this photo to Margaret on the first day.
How wonderful. It's scary how soon children go from being babies to pre-school and then secondary... my 11 year old grandson starts at the local comprehensive today. I'm hoping my daughter will have taken a photo of him in his new school uniform.
ReplyDeleteGosh, 11!! And he's the youngest?
DeleteYes, he's the youngest of our two grandchildren. He apparently had an excellent day... I hope Hazel did too. Our eldest, Ruth, is off to Swansea uni in two weeks to study astro-physics. I can hardly take it in to be honest.
DeleteSo precious! Thanks for sharing with us. I will say that all the kids look a little sleepy - ha! Bet Hazel will enjoy her year!
ReplyDeleteWell, Hazel was a little sleepy. She had just gotten back from a four day vacation in Maine the day before! Thank goodness we will still take care of her the days Margaret works. She goes Tuesday for just half a day, and not at all on Friday. Next year it is full day Kindergarten.
DeleteSO precious, how fast they grow. My granddaughters 6, 4 and 4 are: first grade and (2) in preschool.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing yours on IG. They are just the cutest!!
DeleteHazel looks so grown up in this b&w picture. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteShe does! She has gotten so tall.
DeleteWOW, time flies. It seems like just yesterday you were posting about your granddaughter's birth and now she in her second year of pre-K. It's just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem possible that it has been almost five years. I've never known time to go so fast in my whole life. But I guess three grandchildren born one after the other can do that to time!!
DeleteWhat great memories you are creating! I hope she loves school.
ReplyDeleteShe does!
DeleteThat hand up, doesn't it make you proud! I'm betting you played a small part in that, as well as her parents. She is beautiful, Nan!
ReplyDeleteI was so pleased the teacher took the photo! There is a lot more interaction between teachers and parents because of smart phones. I don't know if it continues or if it is just in nursery school/pre-K.
DeleteThat's a milestone!! She is ready able and excited! And absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love what you wrote!
DeleteShe is gorgeous as everyone has noted. Your community is so fortunate to have access to a good preschool, which lays the foundation for future academic and life successes.
ReplyDeleteWe are! We don't quite understand why we have it, and others don't. Education is a very local matter.
DeleteNan, she is beautiful and yes life goes by so quickly
ReplyDeleteGrab every joy. Cannot believe the grandchildren, the older ones I kept and loved are grown and live all over the world, miss those times. Also cannot believe I am now traveling my 80's.
Time is a weird thing, that's for sure!
DeleteWasn't she a baby just yesterday?☺
ReplyDeleteYes!! And a very tiny one to boot!
DeleteShe will be a wonderful little student! How fast they grow up!
