I don't know whether to be jealous or grateful that it isn't quite so cold in my neck of the woods. Either way, both are beautiful pictures. (p.s. When I saw Mrs. Bale last night, she was hitting the tequila sunrises pretty hard...good to see she is back to herself:)
The dogs have the right idea...lie down and stay warm! Beautiful autumn leaves! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! I read your ladybug post. Yuck! My mom had a cricket problem many years ago. They drove her crazy!! And they were quite vocal, too.!!
Yes, that's the one. I have never watched the complete series all the way through, so I began doing so a few weeks ago. It is so much more special that way...I feel like I am getting the whole story. They are quite addictive...I find myself saying 'just one more' too often when it is already past midnight. Another consequence...my youngest says 'Bye, Li' whenever saying good-bye and goodnight:)
I LOVE that 'bye li' - fantastic! I asked for and received the entire series a couple years ago, and I have watched it twice now all the way through. I never tire of it. I love the characters, the situations, the whole show. Just wonderful.
snow - so soon?, maybe not for you I guess. I am still wishing for fall weather, it is still getting in to the 90's and I am just darn tired of it Nan!!! Enjoy your cool weather (sigh)
I have tried to post a comment two other times. I hope this doesn't come to you three times. I don't know what my problem is.
Anyway... It is fun to see Mrs Bale back in action. I wanted to say again that the header photo is just gorgeous. You captured the golden autumn light perfectly.
Blessed with Four, it is a smidgen early but honestly I start thinking about putting on the snow tires in early October because we often have snow this month. It has all melted now.
My friends and family in Minnesota have been getting snow as well. I remember one Halloween we had to go trick or treating in snow suits there was so much snow on the ground.
here in DC things are finally fall like and lovely.
Lovely pictures, Nan. We had our first overnight frost the night before last, also a little early. I've been rushing round the garden bringing in all the plants that won't survive the cold ... but it was beautiful, just like your snow. And evenings by the fire - well, they're hard to beat
What day did you get this white stuff? Ours arrived last Saturday morning. Just about 1/2 inch, but enough to make it look pretty. Still, far too early if you ask me! :)
I love Mrs. Bale! Time to watch that program again.
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
Oh my ... I'm not ready for snow ... my two girls have the napping down though.

ReplyDeleteOh lucky you!! Edward and Apple dream of snow.
ReplyDeleteBut, what's the weather in the channel??
JC, it seems to be the easiest thing a dog or cat does!
ReplyDeleteBook Psmith, is this the episode?! -

Pamela, I should start including it, shouldn't I? :<(
No way, snow already? Yikes. I love the autumn leaves at the top. I blinked in pleasure when I switched to your blog.

ReplyDeleteOh, Susie, what a nice thing to say! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMare, I can see that crickets could drive one crazy if there were a lot of them making their noises at the same time.

Oh Nan this is just wrong, it is far too early for this. I was hoping this year it would snow on Dec. 24th, and be gone by the 26th.

ReplyDeleteLisa, just once! Thanks about the header picture.
Donna, good luck with that. :<)
I'm in favor of a tome full of Mrs. Bale's concoctions.
ReplyDelete"Cocktails for the Gentle Imbiber, No Matter What the Weather."
Weatherproof cover, of course.

Well, one can always dream.
ReplyDeleteSleet here yesterday...I just know the snow is coming soon. Love your pictures!
ReplyDeleteJulia, there is your million dollar idea. I think people would love a 'recipe' book of Mrs B's cocktails!
ReplyDeleteHey Thomas, Minnesota was the only other place we thought of living because the weather seemed like here. I love the cold and snow.
Dream away, Donna. :<)
Thanks, JoAnn. Today the weather can't make up its mind. I've seen a little snow, a little sleet, and bright sun all in a couple hours.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy
Joanna
We had a few flakes, hail and cold cold rain today.
ReplyDeleteThat's Sophie's favourite winter spot too.
Thanks, Joanna, and I agree completely. I love my woodstove.
ReplyDeleteIsland Sparrow, there's nothing colder than cold rain. It makes me freezing just to think of it. :<)

Les, Mrs Bale tries to be prompt in her weather reports. :<)
ReplyDeleteThat snow came during the night before and then on the day itself Tuesday the 13th.
