Quote du jour/Susan Branch

In April, all over America, the doors fly open, fresh air permeates and the spring cleaning ritual begins. Storm windows come down, blankets and pillows flap from clotheslines (among crowds of daffodils) and dust bunnies are evacuated to the great outdoors to be recycled by home-minded songbirds. The breeze through the open windows carries the fresh smell of the blooming earth.

  1. I love Susan Branch! Her art alone is reason enough to feel happy, and then there are the incredible ways she describes everyday things.

I've begun surrounding myself with women who word things eloquently - whether it's you Nan, or Aisling, or Rapunzel, and of course Susan Branch - the words you and these other women (and many more) share make me feel happy to be alive!

  2. I feel the same way. I think you would like the book I'm reading - Shelter for the Spirit by Victoria Moran. Lots of good tips for living a good, fulfilling life. Thank you for your kind words, Grace.

Now that I am a grandmother, it seems that I am often late in replying to your most-appreciated comments. But I read them as soon as they come in, and I will write as soon as I can. Please do come back and check. I love these blogging conversations. A little addendum - I've just spent quite a long time catching up with dear notes you left me months ago!! I do hope you can get back to read them. And I'm trying to be much more prompt now!

Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
