It was a toss-up whether to post this tomorrow when it is really September, or today which is Van Morrison's 74th birthday, but I decided to do it on his birthday. Over the years of this blog, I've written many times about Van. My life is so much richer because of his music. It is always hard to think of which is my favorite of his songs, but this one is right up there.
Well. I didn't know Van Morrison was so close to my age, just a few months younger. And just a few weeks younger than my husband. And shares the same birthday as my younger daughter. We have so many gifts from musicians and writers and all artists.
ReplyDeleteVan is ageless, and so are you! I loved reading the date connections with your family. And I so agree with your words.
DeleteHappy birthday Van. Good song.
ReplyDeleteI love the images, and of course the Chet Baker mention, another of my faves.
DeleteI play his CDs all the time, love so many of his songs but Crazy Love gets to me every single time. It was also the first song our son and dear daughter-in-law danced to two years ago at their wedding. His music spans generations of fans!
ReplyDeleteI hope so. Not sure people now are listening much.
DeleteI absolutely love his album of classic country songs (most of them from the fifties and sixties). He pulls it off surprisingly well. The album is called Pay the Devil. It includes some Hank Williams songs, and others made famous by the likes of George Jones, Rodney Crowell, and Webb Pierce.
ReplyDeleteI do, too!
DeleteYes, Van is a favorite here, as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear it!
DeleteHe is by far my favorite vocalist from the 70s. So many of his songs are special to me.
ReplyDeleteHis voice has changed as he has gotten older, but I like it. He is so amazing.
DeleteHe's always been one of my favorites! Love this song.
ReplyDeleteI know he has! Our music tastes are quite similar.
