I am so happy that Corinne Bailey Rae has a new album. Her first one came out the year I began writing this blog and I listened to it all the time. Then her husband died, and the next album dealt with her grief. She has now remarried, and The Heart Speaks in Whispers is full of the joy of new life, new hope.
Our local NPR station (from Lane Community College) used to play new alternative music all morning and that was where we first heard Corrine Bailey Rae. She is one of the very few artists I remembered and always wondered what happened to her. (The station now plays NPR talk radio programs only, which are good of course, but I can't handle them as all-day background.)
ReplyDeleteIf you type in tiny desk concerts you may hear all kinds of new and interesting music. Some I love, some not so much. Thanks for your comment. I so love CBR.

ReplyDeleteI've just bought the album but haven't had a chance to play it yet. She really is wonderful.
DeleteI really like this idea, and also your choice of quotes, I think I will follow the suggestion to put gardening jobs in jar and pull them out one at a time:)
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a good idea! I may do it, too.
