Note the basil! This is the second week basil has been part of the bouquet, and I use it. Today there was also a free head of romaine lettuce. Such a fun stop each Wednesday. There's more about the flower CSA here.
I went back to this post, and included a link to my original posting on the flower CSA if you are interested to read more about it. And I love basil, too!
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
Basil in a bouquet! I've never seen that before, but what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a great idea! I've heard she also uses garlic scapes in bouquets. A little cottage garden in a vase!
DeleteThis is so lovely! A wonderful idea, a flower CSA!

DeleteI have used parsley in bouquets, but, never basil.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty and full arrangement. Your CSA looks like a weekly treat, Nan.
Parsley is a great idea! It is a weekly treat.
DeleteGorgeous flowers - summer in a vase!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great way to describe it!
Deleteup in the night
ReplyDeletebad storms
but the flowers are beautiful
wish there was something like that
here in my rural area :)
Perhaps a new flower grower will move into the area!
DeleteI never knew there was a flower CSA. Lovely flowers and I certainly love basil.

DeleteSo, so pretty. Though I'd likely sneeze. Fresh flowers and me - not good friends. But no sneezing with pictures. I hate allergies. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the allergies. Are you allergic to every kind of flower?
DeleteLOve the basil. I often use thyme or pineapple sage in my bouquets but never thought of basil. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen pineapple sage but it sure sounds like it smells wonderful!
DeleteI can't believe such lush and beautiful things actually grow in the ground! We have a whole different set of flowers here.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could post about the flowers growing now, unless you already have and I missed it. I have a lot of catching up to do.
DeleteSimply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI must look at them a thousand times a day!
DeleteI love this idea and the reality of it, too. It brightens up the day when so much of recent news is discouraging.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteAnn
