Quote du jour/Dennis Lehane

It’s hard to imagine any people more inspiring than all those people who dashed across Boylston Street within seconds of the first explosion, and rushed to the aid of the injured. Didn’t give their own safety a thought. Made me proud to be a member of the human race, which I think was the exact opposite of the effect the bomber was hoping for. ...
So proud to be a Bostonian tonight. So brokenhearted to be one, too.

  2. Nan, I may be on the other side of the world but we are all affected by the events at the Boston Marathon - so random, so horrible. Thinking of all my friends in the US today.

  4. We are all broken hearted. So sad, yet as you say...so proud of the people who responded.

  5. So very true...look for the good. We have to or else the bad people win.

  6. There were so many scenes and stories of bravery and kindness, far outnumbering the evil done, but our hearts still ache for those who lost family and friends, and for those gravely injured.

  8. Yes, thousands of people there, all peaceful, celebrating their families and friends and enjoying the challenge... and then all those swift and unselfish responses... it just takes one or two evil people to do this, but their shadow can't cover everyone else.
