Letters from a Hill Farm
I love that song! Thankyou, Nan.
I'm so pleased you liked it. BTW, I figured out that it is Safari that blocks my comments to you. Will be trying Chrome and Firefox.
I shared this song on a facebook page. Love this song. One of my favorite months - my birthday month!
Great minds! :<) Was it JD's version? Are you a Virgo or Libra??
I haven't heard this song in ages, Nan. How nice to hear it today. Rabbit, riabbit.
And to you! I now think of you on the first of each month. :<)
Awwwww. Jimmy Durante always brings tears to my eyes somehow, especially this song. thank you Nan.
I know just what you mean.
I have not heard this in years. Now that I have reached the September, or even the October of my life it is more poignant. Thanks
Nah, October's not for a long time yet!
Very poignant for me as my parents watched his TV showwhen I was a child. I remember his famous, "And good night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are". Thanks for the memory!
I remember that too. I read that it was a reference to his first wife, though there have been thoughts that it was about a restaurant owner in Calabash.
What a wonderful old song. I had forgotten it. A nice trip down memory lane. Happy September.
It really is wonderful.
Nan,Thanks so much for this wonderful memory of childhood. I've always loved the song and his version of it. September is a favorite month of mine.Jean
He really did have a way with a song that made you feel like it was 'his.'
