Away!

I know I haven't been posting much but it has been very busy for a few weeks. Grandchildren involved! So much fun, but hasn't left me much time for writing.

And in a couple of days, Margaret, Hazel, and I are off to Texas! A longtime friend of Margaret's (and mine) lives there, as do our cousins, and my dear friend Kay!

I'll write when I get back.

    1. We plan on a whole day together. This woman is driving miles and miles, bringing me back to her place - more miles and miles, and then I am going to her mystery book group. And afterwards, you guessed it, she is bringing me back to my hotel, miles and miles again. Texans love to drive and they are used to it. My late aunt used to prop a book on the steering wheel for long drives because the roads she drove on were so straight and I must assume not very heavily traveled in her time.

    1. Have a great trip--should your travels take you to East Texas, Shreveport is just across the border 20 or so miles. Just saying. I used to live in South Dakota, we'd drive to Nebraska to go out to eat and not think a thing about it. We were college instructors on a Sioux reservation and drove miles and miles to teach our off campus courses. My ex-husband lost his truck keys in the snow once as he drove to Pierre, but that's another story. Now when my husband and I have to drive across Texas, curse words are usually uttered at some point, even if it's just, "It's a long damn way across Texas."

  7. Please say "hello" to Kay from another Kay!!
I just love your Kay in Texas, wish I could be in the car with you both, we could have such a good "natter" as my late mother-in-law in England would say. Have fun and enjoy yourself. x

  8. I hope you are all having a lovely holiday. Texas must feel very different to New Hampshire.
