I haven't watched the later seasons of this show. Can't think where I left off. Netflix probably knows. I'm kind of on a 'non-watching' of much TV kick right now. However, I'm sure I'll come back around to it after a while.
Someday when it is all over I will buy the DVDs. I love it so much. My TV watching is mostly (all) British shows, old and new via Britbox and Acorn. To me, they have the quality of good books.
Thank you for posting this quote. I love this series and have felt hopeful as each episode has ended, though I will admit it took me awhile to realize it was Vanessa Redgrave's voice.
Such a great quote!! I've only seen a couple of episodes of this show, but may start watching again, especially if my mom wants to re-watch it with me. We're watching a Swedish mystery right now (The Bridge) and it's very intense! Might be ready for something lighter when we're finished with this one.
I'm watching it on Netflix now -- not as far as this season yet (I'm not even sure how many seasons I have so far) ... but I am loving it. Vanessa Redgrave's voiceover at the beginning sets the mood so perfectly each time. I would love to listen to her read poetry.
This season isn't on Netflix. They come to PBS first. I don't have television, but I contribute to a local station and thus can watch it the day after it was on TV. But they don't stay around. I must watch them in a timely manner. So many diff ways to watch things these days.
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
The quote is wonderful and very like the women's Bible study theme of Ephesians 6 which I am in now, with 30 other women.
ReplyDeleteOf course I went and looked up Ephesians 6, and I see just what you mean. Wonderful.
DeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. I love the Vanessa voiceovers in that show.
DeleteWonderful quote from a wonderful show. I watch it faithfully but don't recall this.
ReplyDeleteMary
Mary, it is on PBS right now. It is the show from last Sunday.

ReplyDeleteThey might note it with the credits. Somehow I found out on the first episode. Can't remember - it has been on a long time now. Such a wonderful show.

ReplyDeleteThis quote is from the current season! I've seen The Bridge. Saga is amazing!
DeleteShe's a great character, as is Martin!
DeleteWe think the second season was darker than the first.

DeleteI watched that episode last night and that quote really struck something within me, too.
ReplyDeleteThe next episode is a sad one. Just to let you know. A very sweet section with Sister Monica Jane, but...
DeleteCall the Midwife is my favorite program. I watch on PBS.
ReplyDeleteI think I would say the same!
