OK, this reminded me of all those years ago when you guys came to Texas. Why? As you and I met and ate lunch at Whole Foods, Tom and your kids were at a skateboarding park. Lots of years ago, but look at our kids now. Wonderful, right? Loved the video and I was thinking the same thing - if he'd had his boys out there yet. Thanks for sharing it, Nan! Tell Michael congrats!
That skateboarding park was Michael's 13th birthday present! He still has his love of skateboarding and snowboarding! As does Matt, Margaret's husband.
Looks like fun to me. Of course I couldn't even stay upright no doubt. Your new header is cute. Only a gnome could be having such a relaxing nap in the snow.
Well, now I know what snowboarders do up in the heights. I've only seen them at the bottom, looking happy. No wonder they are all smiles. Your son's skill is impressive!
My son would be so jealous of Michael working there. He spent last week in the French Alps snowboarding but it's a once a year thing for him involving planes and trains. I have skied long ago, in my youth, I remember the silence and beauty of the landscape. So wonderful for you to have it so near, here in the UK it's grey skies and cold but no lovely snow.
Oh my goodness. Your blog header is the cutest ever! Your son is very skilled at snowboarding. People do a lot of that near me, but I've only ridden one down a small hill once or twice. Snow sports are NOT my forte! lol
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
How cool! I've never snowboarded, just skied. Won't be long before his kids join him on the slopes.
ReplyDeleteCampbell already has!
DeleteBTW, I love your new header!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I couldn't resist.

Me, either. I have to have my feet on the ground. Love your words about the gnome. Thanks.
DeleteThat looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI chuckled when I saw your gnome not letting a little snow interfere with his nap!
It does! I love the grace in it. Isn't he just adorable, that little napping fellow.

ReplyDeleteHe's been doing it a long time, now. It is such a fun sport.
DeleteFantastic! I'm sure this was from many years of practice, but, Michael makes it look so easy.
ReplyDeleteYour new header is great.
Gosh, I think he was ten maybe when he began. He loves it, and he loves teaching it to the young students. Thanks for the gnome praise. ;<)
DeleteAmazing! Wonderful....Now if I were sixty years younger...........
ReplyDeleteIt is a great sport! Both my kids started on skis but changed to snowboarding.

ReplyDeleteThe Alps!! My kids would envy him. It has snowed all day today.
DeleteFun! Did not know they had all those little obstacle things to challenge. He's skilled.
ReplyDeleteIt's like skateboarding on snow. Many of the same 'tricks.' He loves it, as does his sister and brother-in-law.

ReplyDeleteI'm quite fond of our little gnome. ;<) No sports are my forte. Only field hockey in high school. I love that game.
DeleteSo cool! I always feel that people who are skiig or snowboarding are out there really living!
ReplyDeleteHe sure loves it!
DeleteWow! He makes it look so much fun (and I bet he uses enough energy that it doesn't even feel cold!)
