Such a tender quote, Nan. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the sentiments of the Mitford books; balms for the soul. It is the little things that come together and can make everything seem right. Yesterday, I cut a red pear into slices for my 7 year old grandnephew. He watched me as I put them on a plate, stepped back, and wrapped me a big bear hug from behind and said "I love you, Aunt Penny". For me, it was, indeed, a big thing.
