Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.
Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
These words perfectly describe the way I feel about people I have met via the internet.
This makes me start my day with a smile.
ReplyDeletemwah from PEI!
So sweet. Thanks.
DeleteI'm smiling too!! Another friendly hello from PEI!
ReplyDeleteI love it that you wrote one right after the other!
DeleteOh, yes, Nan! And Anne Shirley! That is the nicest thing of all about blogging.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like reading the whole series all over again. I've read some of the books at least three times. Love them so.
DeleteVery nice thought,Nan. As far as I am concerned, you are one of them. (And I am still devoted to Anne of Green Gables!)
ReplyDeleteSo very good to hear from you. I've been wondering if you were back in the US yet.
DeleteYou are absolutely correct! My blogging friends are kindred spirits.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, you are one!
Hey Nan! I know how much you love music (me too!) so I wonder if you would like to read the post that I just did on my son's band, The Sevens! Real harmonies and melodies, how refreshing!!
I saw the title of your post on my blog list but I just haven't had a chance to check it out. I will as soon as I can give it the time it deserves.
DeleteDuring my blogging life, I met a lovely lady, whom I have always known is a kindred spirit, and she just happens to be author of this wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteOh, me too! Except for chocolate of course. :<))
DeleteHow apt. And how wonderful to have the Internet through which we can meet kindred spirits. A lift to the spirit and joy in one's heart.
ReplyDeleteVery nice to hear from you. I've put your blog back on my list and will visit soon.
DeleteYes, I have met so many wonderful people here.
ReplyDeleteMe, too.
DeleteI thought that the other day, how grateful I am to find kindred spirits online.
ReplyDeleteI have fallen in love with your header pic. I adore donkeys...tell me more about him do....he is just gorgeous.
She is Nebby. If you type her name into the search bar, a few postings will appear and you can meet her properly. :<)
DeletePerfectly put. And I love your burro. (Or donkey? And are they the same thing?).
ReplyDeleteYes, burro is Spanish for donkey. Nebby is awesome.
DeleteMe, too, Nan - and you are once of those blogging friends. Great Anne quote. My best friend from college, from way-back-when, just visited PEI for the third time. She'd love this.
ReplyDeleteGreat banner.
PEI is so beautiful. We went three times when the kids were younger.
DeleteYes. Anne says perfectly what I've thought so often about blogging friends! I have tried, rather unsuccessfully I'm afraid, to describe this feeling to family and friends who don't blog. I'm grateful to you for passing it on. Is Lucy Maude part of your Canadian authors challenge list? I haven't read her for a long time....my grandmother gave me Anne of GG when I was young. Granny wasn't a gift-giver (we usually got a dollar bill from her for Christmas and birthdays) but she wanted to be sure I read these books!
ReplyDeleteI love your header shot. It must be Nebby I assume.
Yeah, people who don't use the internet in this way really don't understand the connections we make, and how important they are to us.
DeleteThat's our Nebs alright.
Yes.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true! We find kindred spirits through the internet and I have met many of them, now, and my life is so much richer!
ReplyDeleteI agree completely.
DeleteWhat a lovely quote, it's decades since I read Anne.....I have quite forgotten it. I remember the part in 'You've Got Mail" when the customer was advised to read it with a box of tissues beside them.
ReplyDeleteI adore the donkey, can almost smell her (it is a her isn't it?). I love the feel of donkeys, that sturdy body underneath the woolly coat.
Carole
Love your description of donkeys. :<) And yes, Nebby is a girl.
DeleteAH yes, I forgot about the chocolate ;0)
ReplyDeleteSo true, a lot of the people I work with are lovely but not readers. It's so nice to hang out in with 'my people' in the book blogging community. It's interesting also that you see all sorts of arguments and unpleasantness on forums throughout the internet but rarely on the book blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteThat is very interesting. I like to think that readers are tolerant people just as librarians are.
