Paris in July

Here is the information:

The event will run from the 1st – 31st July and as always there will be no rules or targets in terms of how much you need to do or complete in order to be a part - just blog about anything French and you can join in. Some ideas for the month might include:
Reading a French book - fiction or non-fiction
Watching a French movie
Listening to French music
Cooking French food
Experiencing French art, architecture or travel (or remembering travel experiences)
Or anything else French inspired you can think of...

I love the variety of choices. I had such a good time participating in the 2012 Paris in July that I wanted to do so again this summer. Last year I reminisced about our 1971 time in Paris, listened to Françoise Hardy, watched The Red Balloon, and read a Rimbaud poem. You may see the posts under the label 'Paris in July 2012.'

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, you may read more and sign up at one of two blogs -

  1. That sounds really fun. I haven't joined in on a blogger activity in a while and this seems like a good one to do. I love French films and visited France once when I was in college and have good and interesting memories of that time.

    1. I really liked it last year, and I've already added some French movies to my Netflix Instant queue. :<)

  2. Hey Nan - Just stopping by to say your Iris looks amazing on the old Mac that I bought at Recycle North last fall. (The screen is fabulous but the software can't be updated). Also taken by the macarons. (Sp?) I bought a little box at Laudree in NYC this spring - $21 for half a dozen (and I didn't like them - but the box was nice and the shop and the very french staff were lovely). For those dipping into the challenge, my favorite French movie is Jean Renoir's version of Beauty and the Beast. Thanks again for your last post.

    1. I'm not that fond of those cookies. And BatB is too sad for me. I know. I know. I'm hopeless.

    1. Thanks. I may just watch movies this year. There's one I watched last year and never got to write about so may watch it again.

  4. If I ever finish Stephen King's Under the Dome, I'll join you in this fun challenge. I had a good time with it last summer. I'm pretty sure I still have some books about Paris that I didn't get to last year.

    1. I'm going to mostly watch movies, I think. I have loads of French books around here, many of which I haven't read. You could also cook!
