Would Elvis really have been 77 today? I can't imagine him as an old man,I don't even think of him as he was when he died but always remember him as he was in his prime singing Blue Suede Shoes. Happy Birthday Elvis!
I love Elvis. My son put one of my favorites on a CD that he put together for me. It is "If I Can Dream".
Nan, you will laugh at this but for years, I have called people and sung "Happy Birthday" and tried to sing like Elvis. They never guess it is a woman! Ha! This comes from years of listening and singing along to Elvis. (And I always LOVED that he was from the South! That was huge for me growing up!) :-) Thanks for this post.
Nan, I couldn't get this to work earlier, so just now I was listening to Elvis and my son just walked by and said, "That is one of my favorites by Elvis. It's great". Just thought I would tell you that!
Thank you all for watching and listening. I do SO love that song, and Kay G. think of a young boy even knowing it, let alone having it as a favorite! Yay, Elvis lives!
Both of my twenty-something kids were amazed he was only 21 in this video. People used to look older than they do now. I wonder why.
I love Elvis. When I was a teenager, at boarding school, we would all gather round the ancient gramophone and swoon - fond memories. He does have the most beautiful voice. Carole
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.

ReplyDeleteI have a friend that shares Elvis's birth day. She celebrates with him every year.

I like this song, but my favorite is Love Me Tender. It still makes me go weak in the knees.
