Red Sox Nation is sad today

  1. Definitely a sad day for us fans. He seemed like a great and humble guy.

    1. Yes, he was, and had so many sadnesses in his life. He beat that damn cancer over and over but it still got him in the end.

  2. How difficult and sad the last few years were for Jerry, battling cancer and dealing with his son's criminal behavior. But he always tried to help Red Sox Nation laugh instead of cry about being a Red Sox fan.

    1. Yes,they were. I read that his family said how very helpful the love of the fans was during those dark days.

  3. The name means nothing to me, though I understand the ways in which sportsmen and women become part of our lives.

    1. I live in the part of the country where the Red Sox are THE baseball team, and most of us have grown up listening to and watching games. Even when I don't pay attention, the team is still in my blood.

  4. Jerry Remy was a special kind of guy, as a player and as a broadcaster. A person like that who becomes part of a region's almost-daily life for so many years is going to be missed like a family member who dies. I get it...and I've felt it myself about sports people.
