Today's home video - Bob Ross mug

This is the coolest thing ever! One day a Bob Ross video suggestion turned up on Tom's YouTube app. He thought Hazel might like it. Well, she did! And has been painting ever since. She talks as she paints, just like Bob Ross. Today Margaret and Hazel gave this mug to Pop.

  1. What a great story. We hosted an arts event in our home over the weekend and a neighbor introduced himself to me, said he had gotten certified in January as a Bob Ross instructor, and has turned his living room into a teaching studio. Next Hazel will be teaching Bob Ross classes.

    1. That is amazing, amazing. Margaret knows someone who does this, too. I'm astounded at how 'big' he is. Someone wrote he has the best 'second act' ever!!

  2. Love it! So cool for Hazel to be painting and learning from the late, great Bob Ross. Always had that zen-like peaceful serenity. We always found it both hypnotic and relaxing. Happy little trees and all...
    And the mug!

  5. That's adorable. I love how kids generalize, and try to be the same as what they see. Scary though, as well. Luckily Hazel has the best people to copy!

  6. This is so great! Amy used to watch this when she was about the same age as Hazel. I would love to watch a video of Hazel painting. :)

  7. I haven't heard of Bob Ross here in UKland. I will have to look him up on You Tube. I never cease to marvel at the ease with which one can look things, people, places up at the click of a button nowadays. I remember long days in libraries chasing up facts, this is so much easier and quicker. I find I get used to it and have to stop and marvel occasionally to bring myself down to earth.

  8. I did a few Bob Ross kit paintings. The technique worked well but had a tough time trying to getthe right paint thickness. Then again I'm not an artist.

  9. Hazel has the best grandparents! So great to realize that she'd love doing this ... and I doubt that many grandparents would realize that potential!
