I've been greatly enjoying The Big Family Cooking Showdown on Netflix. In a episode I saw last evening, there were two great quotes from Nadiya Hussain who is a presenter. You may remember she won The Great British Bake Off in 2015.
"Oh, my God, mashed potato is my favorite thing in the whole wide world."
"I would rather have a baby than make soufflé."

I agree with her about mashed potatoes. I tried a new recipe for Thanksgiving and it was all I wanted to eat. So delicious! (Potatoes, cream cheese, butter, heavy whipping cream and half-n-half!!)
Do you remember MJ's potatoes from an old email list we were on?? Boil 5 pounds potatoes Put 8 oz. cream cheese in a big bowl (with chives if you have them) Mash potatoes, add sour cream, salt and pepper (if desired) Add to cream cheese. Transfer to greased casserole dish. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake in preheated 350º oven. Delish!! I made them all the time when the kids were home. Now I usually make them just with butter.
I do remember this and have the printed recipe from her! I almost made these, but discovered one in The Pioneer Woman Cookbook (A Year of Holidays) and decided to try that one instead. I think MJ's might be a little bit healthier than PW's! :)
Nadia was definitely wonderful on the GBBS, and I watched her trip to India on her own show after that. I didn't know about the "Big Family" show -- will have to check it out. Thanks!
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
