Today's picture/ The grandsons begin preschool

Michael took this photo earlier today as Campbell and Indy began preschool. They will be going three days a week from 8:30-4:30. This sounds like a long day but they have one hour of recess and another hour for lunch! This is an alternative, independent school that sounds wonderful to us.

  2. What? Already? Noooooo!! The older I get the faster time flies. And really we wouldn't want them to stay babies forever. Darling picture, they look so grownup and ready walking toward whatever wonders life brings!!

    1. Maybe not forever, but maybe spend 2 years at 3 years old, etc. ;<)) I so love your last sentence. Wonderful.

  3. My son went to an alternative school grades K - 8 and it was a good experience. So cute to see them starting off to preschool together, that is a great way to do it.

    1. My daughter-in-law says they are almost like twins. They are only 14 months apart. Thank you for telling me about your boy. I wish there were more alternatives everywhere.

  4. I was going to say the same as Sally - it can't be that they are already old enough for pre-school! Time does indeed fly!
Yes, it does sound like a long day, but at that age, kids are so full of energy, they will be perfectly able to handle it.

    1. They had a nap during rest time! Sounds like this place has it all figured out! Last evening they were up late, playing and happy.

  6. The years are certainly flying by; hope they love school!

Nan, do you have any idea why I can't comment on your posts from my iPhone. Other blogspot posts are not an issue, just your blog? that why i don't comment often as I don't remember to go back and do it from my Mac?? Maybe a setting issue?

    1. I have not one idea! I don't use my phone for anything but texting, calls, IG, and photos. A complete Luddite. I come to my desktop computer for all things internet.

  7. They will have so much fun! And it's amazing how much they learn at that age. I have one granddaughter that will be in that age group of preschool another year and one who is now a big first grader. She loved preschool.

I love your tomato picture at the top! My husband laughs at all the pictures I take of our little sweet tomatoes but they are just so beautiful to me too, the greens by the reds.

    1. I didn't realize you had a grandchild this age! So great to share that with you. And yes, I do love the green and red tomatoes together. A bit of Christmas in the summer!

  10. I love the lighting in this photograph! It's hard to believe they are already in preschool, but I'm sure they are having a great time. It's a long day, but it sounds like they are getting plenty of time to play and rest. My cousin's son goes to an alternative preschool and seems to be thriving. My other cousin's daughter just started TK (transitional kindergarten) and loves it!

    1. Michael is a very good photographer. He had a show at a local place a few months ago. And he does the promotion video for the restaurant where he works. What is transitional kindergarten?

  11. I wasn't sure of the definition, so I Googled it. "Transitional Kindergarten, often referred to as TK, is an exciting educational opportunity for children who turn five between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2. It is the first phase of a two-year Kindergarten program that uses age-appropriate curricula aligned to the Common Core State Standards." Here's more.

    1. Don't get Tom going on CCSS!! There is a school of thought that says it is better for kids born in the summer and fall to wait a year before beginning school. We did that with Margaret and it made all the difference.

  12. I can't believe how your beautiful grandchildren have grown and are starting their school experiences! Where did the time go??
