Today's song - The News/Carbon Silicon

This should lift your spirits and get you dancing! I love this song.

People started caring about
What they eat
And people started
Smiling at everyone they meet
And people started looking
For good instead of bad
Realize what they could lose
In what they always had

People started growing
Instead of being crushed
And people started slowing down
Instead of being rushed
And people started looking
With very different eyes
And this information
That comes as a surprise

Chorus:
Good morning here's the news
And all of it is good
Good evening here's the news
And all of it is good
And the weather's good

People started calling
Those in power to account
And people started saying
"I want my voice to count"
And people started learning
That they don't need to fight
And they control their future
And try to make it right

And people started feeling
That better's on the way
And people started feeling
Some peace and calm today
And people started liking
The way that good life feels
And every precious moment
Becoming what is real

  1. Just popping in say 'Hello' and that I hope you're doing ok? Strange times we're living in. To be honest I don't find the staying at home a strain at all, it is after all the way Peter and I live. I do miss our daughters and grandkids, though we see our younger daughter when she pops up with bread or milk, keeping a safe distance of course. And we've learnt how to Google Duo so have actually 'seen' the family at least. We actually went out for a proper shop today and it was less weird than I thought it would be. We have a large garden so our exercise is that and it's the time of year here when that starts up... the weather having been so lovely. Take care, Nan.

    1. Same here. Our life isn't very different. I'm glad to read that Boris seems some better.

  2. Hello, hello Nan (and tribe!) That was a great song.... never heard of them although they appear to have been round for some time. Glad to see you are Ok over there. Here in Dorset, the figures are low and the weather has been good, so like the song, that's "good news". Mr Mac has been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, which is not a killer, but a very painful inflation of certain joints and muscles. Steroids would do it, but these are not being prescribed at the moment as they lower your resistance to the Corona Virus. We are consulting a herbalist currently by email.
On the good side, we have had a week of glorious spring weather, lunch eaten in the garden; I had two wonderful butterfly sightings in the garden (see my blog), and with a project a day (today it will be more bloody ironing!). Last week one of my projects was "de-spider webbing the house" after the winter. Just a feather duster and hey presto. it's surprising how a lock-down makes you look at your home in a new way..... lots of little treasures being posted off to friends as they come to light! And of course, the garden. I am sure it will be a showpiece by the end of summer as we are not going anywhere else!
Are you "facetiming" or whatever you use to talk to your grandkids? Keep well and cheerful. xx

    1. I'm sorry to be so late in reading and responding to your post. I'm sorry about this diagnosis. Hoping you can find alternative support. The past month I haven't spent nearly enough time on my blog, and reading other blogs. You'd think I would have more time, but it doesn't seem so. I hope and plan to be here more. I love your project a day idea! We do facetime with the boys, and see Hazel in person. They are just down the road.

  3. A positive and energetic beginning to the morning. Thanks Nan. Good to hear all is well with you and yours. Life isn't much different for us either.

  4. We certainly enjoy a few Prine CDs in our collection of music. He was quite the storyteller. There is a love story about him on CNN and how he gave a shoutout to an 11 year old girl celebrating her birthday at his concert. Probably his youngest fan, it’s a sweet story.

Thought about you when I made a vegan recipe a day ago, wanted to be sure I shared it. It’s called Buddha’s Feast.

    1. I must go see it. As I wrote to someone else, I just haven't been blogging. I have posts in my head but they haven't gotten written down yet!
