I agree! Alexa is certainly confused because she said to expect showers this morning and yet the sun is shining and there isn't a cloud in the sky! haha is right! :)
My husband is reading a book you might enjoy, if you haven't already read it - Around India in 80 Trains by Monisha Rajesh, published in 2012. He keeps reading me parts of it. I definitely have a little bit of India in my soul, but not sure I could bear the heat and humidity!
Nan, I haven't read the book. But if it's about trains, then I'm not surprised, for India has one of the largest rail networks in the world — ferrying more than 23 million people (almost equivalent of Australia's population) in close to 13,000 trains every single day. That's quite a number.
Maybe not quite over yet...pretty though. So you will have a snowy Valentine's Day! Did you see that they seem to be naming the snowstorms now? I think they are up to 'M' or 'N' - this might be Nadia (ha!).
The weather people are so nuts. Every snowflake is the snowstorm of the century. We've had 20 or more below 0 for all our lives. It's like your weather - I'm sure every degree of heat is the hottest it has ever been. Too much weather (and all other) news for me!! I don't listen or watch any of it. I say to Tom when he's reading a forecast "look out the window." haha
It is still snowing lightly today, but we didn't get nearly as much as they forecasted. School wasn't even called off. But an hour below us, where Michael and his family live, they got 10 inches and he went skiing!
Hi Nan, As you know I live in northern New York in the Adirondacks. We got much less snow than forecast as well--about 8 inches or so. However,since November 7 when our winter started with 6 inches of snow and then remained cold and snowy, I've been predicting an early spring--beginning sometime in March (probably later in March). We usually don't have anything going on until the first week of May, as far as spring is concerned, so I will be interested to see what happens to my "notions." We had a very, very early spring in 2012--do you remember that? March 18 and temps in the 70s?
I checked back in my iphotos and found a picture of a friend and I on March 9, and she's wearing shorts!! It should be a good gardening season with all the snow, "poor man's manure"!
We're in for a spring-like rest of the week here, with temperatures reaching up to 14C on Sunday (57F) forecast. Much as I look forward to that, I am sure we won't get away with it as easy as that - there is more to come before winter will retreat for good. And in the mornings, it is still cold, even frosty, so there is no way I can already put my winter coats through the washing and fold them away for the next 10 months.
Well hello Mrs Bales! It sure does still look cold in the Channel ...er, I mean at the Hill Farm. As I’m catching up and reading several of your posts at once, I Couldn’t help but think how if your later post on favorite couples had included ones we’ve met on the small screen Jean and Lionel would be top of my list.
Oh, yes, television shows! That would be a great list! And those two are definitely favorites! It is getting to be time for me to watch yet again all the DVDS!

Oh, yes. We'll have snow for months yet. The latest one in the past few years was the end of May, but we often get some in early May.
