And on Sunday at the Farmers' Market, I bought an edible bouquet of basil, nasturtiums, and rosemary from the same flower farm.
My supper that Sunday evening was entirely from the Farmers' Market. Roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary, and this salad.
Ah, the bounty of summer!

ReplyDeleteMe, too, Kay. I've always just eaten lettuce. Tons of it but nothing with it. Then this year I've begun adding cukes, tomatoes, and carrots. Duh. I know. Join the world, Nanny. hahah.
DeleteI think I saw the edible bouquet, and another one, on Instagram which admittedly I rarely frequent. But, in the efforts of eating more wisely, and the beauty of those plants, I was immediately attracted to that paper wrapped bunch. How lovely to think that we can eat not only of such bounty, but of such beauty.
ReplyDeleteYes, you did, miss eagle eye! It is a wonderful thing. I made a batch of pesto with the basil. And am continuing using the nasturtium each day for supper. Not much left. I might make the rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes again tonight. I never mind eating the same thing many times a week this time of year!!
DeleteNan, I love your gray fence! And that you don't mow your grass to death, which reminds me of what Tara Dillard encourages and calls Tara Turf. And your bouquets are lovely but I especially love the one in the eggplant vase--it all looks as if it should be in an oil painting, the wood stove too.

Natural aging on the fence! It was built in April of 2105. We haven't mowed much this summer because we were quite a while without rain. Now we've had some, the grass is growing again, and Tom mowed this week. Thank you for all the compliments!!
