It's an amazing time of year, isn't it? Thanks for posting such a cheery bouquet of flowers, in spite of the melodramatic name of that one. I'll have to follow the link - I'm intrigued.
Beautiful. I love love-lies-bleeding, and grew some this year. I am so enjoying your blog- writing recipes, putting books on my "to-read" list, listening to CCB radio. We seem like kindred spirits!
Another bountiful bouquet, Nan. I just saw Love-lies-a-bleeding in the heirloom garden at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, Wisconsin, which is a nice place for me to stop and stretch my legs when coming home from MN. It is such a dramatic plant in the garden, and equally so in this bouquet.
They are so fresh, and so local, and the young woman so special. Makes me very happy. (PS I've not ever been to a costco- I don't even know what it is)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful bouquet with us every week - even though I don't have any cut flowers in my flat right now (being away most of the time anyway), it feels like I have some because I can look at yours :-) I didn't know "love lies bleeding" is the same plant I've known as amaranth cereals (in bread, muesli and other food) for years. Don't you just love learning things from other people's blogs - one of the nicest way to have new information and ideas!
I'll answer your comments as soon as I possibly can. Please do come back if you've asked a question. Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.

It is quite amazing and I love how it trails down.
DeleteLove Lies Bleeding, I remember it as an Elton John song, I think the album had a picture of the flower, or am I imagining it?
ReplyDeleteOne of us oughtta look it up! I have no idea.
DeleteThey get more spectacular! And that fresh-picked look that you don't find at Costco!
