Teaser Tuesdays/September 29
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read.
Open to a random page.
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!).
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here are a few more than two sentences from Dan Brown's brand new book - The Lost Symbol. You may click on the picture for a closer view. It is the first page of chapter 42; page 169. Whew! What an adventure I have been on with Mr. Langdon. Addendum: I ended up quitting the book halfway through. It was fine. It was a good thriller. But I found I just lost interest.
I mean to read this book. Great idea to have a picture of the page for your tease! Here's mine: My tease
ReplyDeleteLike your photo tease. I'm looking forward to hearing if you like this one!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this book!!!
ReplyDeleteHere is mine
Awww, taunting those of us who do not yet own a copy. ;) This is high up on my TBR list. My teaser is here: http://rundpinne.blogspot.com/2009/09/puzzle-king-teaser-tuesdays.html
ReplyDeleteThank you my new readers! I'm off to read your Tuesday Teasers now.
ReplyDeleteLike how you teased us!
ReplyDeleteTeaser Tuesdays: The Sister Pact by Cami Checketts
My tease is from E.L. Doctorow's "Homer and Langley" - page 57
ReplyDelete"He would run out for all the morning papers, and in the afternoon for the evening papers, and then there were the business papers, the sex gazettes, the freak sheets, the vaudeville papers, and so on. He wanted to fix American life finally in one edition, what he called Collyer's eternally dateless newspaper, the only newspaper anyone would ever need."
I saw E.L.Doctorow interviewed last Sunday on CBS Morning News - at his lovely home and gardens with his equally lovely wife of 50 some years. He talked about this newest book, and I was eager to get hold of it.
Great way to share a teaser! Many are reading this one.
ReplyDeleteGautami, I'll be over to read yours!
ReplyDeleteJanice, I just bought this book last week after hearing the author on National Public Radio. I'm fascinated by eccentrics and though I don't usually care so much for fictionalized history, I just had to read it and soon. You may listen if you'd like (hope the link works):

Nisé, Thank you! I'm really enjoying it.
Love the photo tease. I started this last night. I just love this man's writing.
ReplyDeleteLove how you scanned the entire page for your teaser! This is definitely on my too-be-read list, though I won't get to it any time soon.
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is posted HERE.
Ann Marie, I think the writing is even better than in The Da Vinci Code - clearer, more precise. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. :<)
ReplyDeleteHeather, thank you. I was reading it at the kitchen table this morning and the sun was on it (with a touch of shadow) and I thought, gee wouldn't that look good as my teaser. I'm off to look at yours. This is a very fun way to spend a Tuesday.
I just wanted to tell you that I think it's completely awesome that you did your teaser in visual form. I may have to try that sometime soon myself. :) Also, that header photo of yours is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou can check my teaser out here.
Thank you Celi.a! I'll be over.
ReplyDeleteI'm 13% through this book, having started it early this morning. As you can probably surmise, I am reading it on my Kindle. Liking it so far. I keep seeing Tom Hanks in my head!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the 13% I thought, I bet she's reading it on her kindle! :<) I am almost halfway through - judging from the way my bookmark is dividing the book - the old fashioned way of knowing!!
ReplyDeleteRod lost interested, too. I don't think it made it as far as you, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know, Les. I wondered how he liked it. One of those books I was sure I'd like, and now regret buying.
