This would be a fun time for you to get the book since it began last month.

Sallie, such a nice thing to say. Thank you.

Librarian, thank you for sharing your life like this. A kind, kind man.

Lisa, I'd love a garden shed. They are quite common now, but I've always associated them with an English garden, which is probably why I'm so fond of them. :<)

Penny, did I miss a posting on the school? I searched your blog and didn't find any mention. I'd like to hear your impressions. I'm finding these monthly entries just wonderful. I love my time with these women.

Thank you, Barbara, I'm so pleased. We have little dumps all over our land. Just the other day we found part of a harness. Amazing.

What a nice thing to say, Les! I'm fond of both the women's writings for different reasons, which I am just beginning to sort out as the months go along. Dave has always wondered where the dump was on our farm, but we haven't discovered it yet. Thanks for the link.

I am struck by the similarities in the issues that took center stage when both Gladys and Rachel wrote their words and today. That is an interesting quote about the Red China debate. Of course, now we have the internet and technology to be branded as subversive.

Ah, you give us much to ponder with this installment of your yearlong adventure. Here in the burbs I have a small garden shed that has a few smaller things stacked around the edges. A couple of old broken down trellises that I might fix and use. Flower pots. My late husband was a teacher, too. He worked hard, and when he was not teaching, he was preparing lessons. If he was not doing either of the two, he was running the household; I didn't have to do anything at all while he was still alive, only go out to work. When I would join him in the kitchen while he pepared dinner and I asked, "can I do anything?", he would usually say "Just be here and be beautiful" :-)
Of course I did help when I could, but it mostly wasn't even necessary.
Oh dear, I wanted to comment on your post and not go into a lengthy account of past marital bliss!Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-54169153597874763942011-09-30T21:10:08.098-04:002011-09-30T21:10:08.098-04:00It makes me happy to read your monthly reviews of ...It makes me happy to read your monthly reviews of both of these lovely authors!
