A goodbye to Kris Kristofferson - The Highwaymen - The Pilgrim: Chapter 33 (American Outlaws: Live at Nass...

I spent a wonderful time at youtube finding just the right song to honor the late Kris Kristofferson. I thought this one from The Highwayman would be good because those men are just so happy to be singing and playing together. Kris was a very big part of my life. Tom and I loved him from the first. I was lucky enough to see him three times, I think. One show Tom missed because he had his appendix out! I was in the front row in a lovely Boston small venue.

  2. This was a very nice tribute to him, Nan. He was an enormous talent, but also such a decent human being. It’s a sad loss for all of us.

  3. Dear Nan,
It is so sad to lose such a great singer/songwriter/...GREAT GUY! I had his song "Why Me Lord" on my blog and I loved the people in the background singing with him. They looked absolutely thrilled to be on the same stage with him. Such a wonderful lyric, "Why Me Lord, what have I ever done to deserve even ONE of the pleasures I've known?".

    1. I just saw that blog post yesterday. I almost put that one up, but I'd been thinking about how Willie is the only one still alive now from The Highwaymen, and I wanted to use one of their performances.

  4. This is just wonderful, Nan. I've never seen the Highwaymen in concert, nor have I seen this video, but this song is one of my all-time favorites of Kris's. I plan to blog about Kris in the coming days (weeks?). He was such a part of my life and I'm still numb that he's truly gone.

  5. So sad he’s gone. Such a decent and likeable man. I’ll never forget his kindness to Sinead O’Connor, he was a rare being.

  7. Yes, all gone but Willie now. Something special left with them. As Johnny and June bought their Christmas tree from us each year, and RH delivered it to their home, he was always most special to me but what a group they were!
