So very sorry about Notre Dame - it's tragic. I love your hair though - long and red and very appropriate for the time. Wonder how many of us had long hair at that time - I did - ha!
What a lovely photo of you with your gorgeous locks! I have never been to Paris, but I learned all about "flying buttresses" when studying the Notre Dame Cathedral in an art history course many years ago. I've always longed to see it in person.

Been to France several times but never yet been to Paris. Should have made the effort when we were younger as Hubby is not as mobile as he used to be. Love the photo, Nan!
And I've been only to Paris. For a week. I'm not awfully "mobile" either with this bad knee, but I still dream of going to Oxford. My traveling dreams are always of England.
How lovely to see you there in 1971! You look to be about my age or just a wee bit older. In 1971, I graduated from high school and started my freshman year at college. So glad you were able to really experience Notre Dame.
Extraordinary how the world and things that occur link up, isn't it? I often have a holiday in France, but have only been to Paris once, and never to Notre Dame. My home town is Salisbury, Wiltshire, and it too has a great cathedral - I watched the burning and tried to imagine what it would be like if that burned. Thanks for the pic... I would have been 24 that year, and had not yet met the love of my life!!!

DeleteI was 26 that year, but I didn't see Notre Dame until Easter weekend 1974. Last night was heartbreaking for millions.

It was really great! I graduated HS in '66.
