Today's picture/An update on the crèche picture from two days ago

This is what I found after Hazel went home today. She brought every figure in - the Wise Men, the shepherds, and all the animals so that they are all close to and gazing at the Child in a manger. It made me cry. "Through the eyes of a child" indeed.

  1. Awww, so sweet. I remember the times when I wouldn't wash the finger prints off of the patio doors for days after my Grands would leave. I didn't get to see them often. You are blessed.

    1. It makes me so sad that yours were far away. Are they old enough now to come see you on their own? I am thankful every single minute.

  2. That's how it should be, isn't it, through the eyes of a child.

  3. This is wonderful, I would have them this way from now on and be sure to let Hazel know as the years go by that she is the one who first did it. Absolutely wonderful.

  4. Nan, children see through the eyes of the Maker, as Hazel did. Wonderful innocence and a pure heart.

  5. Lovely. My husband says his mother didn't put the baby Jesus into the creche scene until Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

    1. I had never heard of this until reading Madeleine L'Engle's The Twenty-four days of Christmas. It makes sense that He be put in on Christmas Day.

  7. Very moving, Nan. This is exactly why I loved teaching. Spending time with children is magical.
