The time is off on the pictures. We have to check into the setting.
I'm thinking this may be "our" lone coyote that was in the first nature cam picture I put up here. He must have a trail because there he is in the same place in both September and October. There is a whole life going on while I'm asleep!
I am exceedingly fond of turkeys, which I am sure I've written here before. They are a huge success story in my state. The last sighting had been in 1854!! There is a great article here if you are interested.

DeleteYour Fall header is magnificent ... here we only have yellow leaves (Aspens in the mountains and Cottonwood along the rivers) ... a wonderful change to see red!

DeleteJust like bears and other wild animals they are coming into "civilization" because they are losing their wild territories. Scary for owners of little dogs or cats. Before we stopped letting our cats out, we lost two to coyotes and two to fishers.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason, the cam didn't "catch" the moose I put on IG this week. They were in the same area as the coyote. Maybe they were too tall?? But I would think their legs would be there.
DeleteThat trail cam takes remarkably clear pictures ... I had no idea they’d be that good. The second to the last one is my favorite though, and I bet yours as well! ...lots of wild turkeys in our area too. I saw 10 on the country road to Cyndi’s last week.

DeleteThat's something I think we need, a cam to capture the wildlife that rolls i at night. We watch both grey and red foxes in our field and I love to see them. Haven't seen a turkey in quite a while. Great post and I also wanted to tell you I LOVE your blog header. What beautiful colored foliage.

DeleteLoved the pictures, Nan! Showed them to my hubby. He really loved the turkeys (well, and the kids) - ha! We need to check ours in the backyard. It's been a while and now the live oak acorns are falling. That's usually when we see a pig or two if they are around. Told you that we've had some very aggressive coyotes in the last year. Hope they have moved on.
ReplyDeletePigs or coyotes? I think I'd take the latter. Is there hunting season on the feral hogs? Did I ask that already?!
DeleteThere is a bounty on the feral pigs, as I understand it. There are so many here in Texas and they are so destructive and so prolific in their breeding. They have litters of over 10 often.
