I love these beautiful colors! The sun went into Virgo today, which is the last astrological sign of summer. It is a mutable sign giving us some summery days and others that are more autumnal. The flowers from now through the next three weeks reflect this. We see bits of high summer as well as early fall in the flowers.
Your flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOur first maple leaf with a tinge of red fell this week.
They sure are! Cheery, I think.

DeleteLovely, and divided up beautifully. What are the small white flowers with the dark red centers?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm not sure. Maybe phlox?
DeleteLate summer flowers are so sumptuous, aren't they! The ones you are showing us this week are more or less the same kinds I pass on my way to work every morning in a particularly beautiful garden. Once, I saw the owner working in his garden and complimented him, telling him how much I admired his flowers every time I walked by. He stopped his work, cut a few floweers and handed the small bouquet to me!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good adjective!! What a nice thing for you to do, and how kind of him! Lovely story.
DeleteHello fellow blogger! I also splurged on a flower CSA and this week's bucketful was a riot of color. Thanks for popping by again and leaving your thoughtful comment. xo
ReplyDeleteThese flowers -- and your grandboys' first day of school -- oh my gosh summer is well and truly over, no matter what the calendar says!!
