Today's picture/Chimney decorations

From Christmas: the childhood stockings. The alike ones from a local yarn shop, way before the current knitting craze, and Michael's from a church fair, bought by his step-grandmother, Anna.

From the new year: a slate picture of garlic Margaret gave us a long time ago, and a Pontiac hubcap Tom gave me, also a long time ago, because my father sold Pontiacs. "Dollar for dollar, you can't beat a Pontiac." And then our two cast iron pans.

  1. I see that stove burning bright! Bet you're needing it. I'm sure your cold is way, way worse than ours, but geez, it's 28 outside and that's too cold for this Texan. LOL

    Love the decorations!

    1. Yeah, 28 is very cold for you! It's hovering around 0 here. My hope is that a real winter will kill the ticks! I'll take below 0 every day if I could be assured they would be gone! haha

  2. Your home looks so warm and inviting with your personal things displayed. Do stay warm. We have had zero temps the past few days. Way too cold for this So Indiana gal.

    1. Oh, thanks! As I say to anyone who'll listen - I'll take cold if it kills of those ticks!

  3. We also have a hubcap on our wall: In my husband's 'previous life' as a police officer, he was in a high-speed chase in which the chasee put a bullet-hole in the hubcap of the cruiser. I'm so glad he doesn't do that job anymore!

And what would we do without our cast iron pans? A friend said to me many years ago: "Everything changes when you cook in cast iron." I thought she exaggerated. I know now that the hyperbole was marginal. ;-)

    1. What a story! Glad he has the hubcap, and that he is okay. I'd be glad, too, Debbie! And yes, I love my cast iron.
