My Girl - The Temptations

This song was popular when I was still in high school, and I so loved it. Many years later, when our little Margaret arrived from South Korea, this is the song we sang to her:

I love the words, and think it is a wonderful poem. It was played this past weekend at our niece's wedding, and I was so happy to be with our grown-up little girl.

And here she is with her dear Matty, and their little "my girl."

    1. Thank you. I should post a picture that really shows the dresses, sweaters, and shoes! They were wonderful. And my grandsons had little khaki pants and shirts, and one had a bow tie.

  2. Just popped over from Barbara's Blog/post...
Blown me away...I spent 10 months
back in 68, at Motown, Detroit..!
Soul music is a BIG part of my life!
I was one of the few white faces allowed
there..Two things run my life...my music,
my emotions...Thanks for this...and of course
the first person to record this was the late,
    great Otis Redding...1965..!
    "Willie..can you remember it...".
    "Can l remember it"...

    My Girl....

I've got sunshine on a cloudy day
When it's cold outside I've got the month of May
    I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl)
I've got so much honey the bees envy me
I've got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees
    I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl)
    Hey hey hey..
    Hey hey hey...
    Ooh..
I don't need no money, fortune, or fame
    I've got…

  6. It is a lovely song, and I have always liked soul music, although I am too young to have experienced it all in real life.
Margaret, Matty and Hazel Nina are such a beautiful family - inside (from what I know through you) and outside! I love the dresses the two ladies are wearing :-)

  7. What a nice photo of your girls.
I loved reading this and I love this song, singing for as long as you. It has become granddaughter Kezzie and my song.
