Quote du jour/ Jan Karon

Cynthia came in quietly and set a cup of tea before him. He kissed
her hand, inexpressibly grateful, and she went back into the kitchen.
When we view the little things with thanksgiving, even they become
big things.

  3. I love, love, love this quote. You know I didn't love this series, but it really does have some wonderful views on life and love. I might re-read the first two or three in the series (I've been saying that for years!).

    1. There's a book I read ages ago with a lot of quotes from Father Tim. Maybe you'd like it.

  4. Such a tender quote, Nan. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the sentiments of the Mitford books; balms for the soul. It is the little things that come together and can make everything seem right. Yesterday, I cut a red pear into slices for my 7 year old grandnephew. He watched me as I put them on a plate, stepped back, and wrapped me a big bear hug from behind and said "I love you, Aunt Penny". For me, it was, indeed, a big thing.
